I'm sure all writers have an extensive library of writing and forensic books. Pick one favorite from your collection and tell us the name of the book, the author, and why you think it's a valuable tool for a writer to have. I'm sure we'll all discover a new book or two for our own libraries.
Since I've said that we can only pick one, I'll start with one of my favorites.
Forensic For Dummies, by D.P. Lyle is filled with easy-to-understand information from checking for fingerprints and DNA, to investigating crime scenes and understanding the various stages the body goes through at death.

I think my favorite is Word Painting, I think it was well written and as such easy to read.
It is inspirational and motivating. So many authors will talk down to us or be real discouraging and we don’t need that when we already have so many challenges ahead of us. What we need is the pep talk from someone who has been where we are and who will tell us that we can do it too. DeLane

I really liked HOW I WRITE by Janet Evanovich (with Ina Yalof). I'm not a huge Janet E. fan. Her books are fun and kooky but I'm not a follower. However this book is a kick-butt, no-nonsense approach to writing. She doesn't let you make excuses, covers a lot of ground and gives great, understandable, practical advice.
